Rivatelier at Fuorisalone 2025: highlights from Solferino 28’s “Città Paradiso”

As is globally known, Milan becomes the epicenter of global creativity every spring as the world’s most innovative designers, brands and architects converge to celebrate the future of living. This year, too, the Milano Design Week remained a cornerstone of this celebration through its two complementary experiences: the iconic Salone del Mobile 2025, a showcase of excellence in furniture and interior design, and the vibrant universe of the Fuorisalone 2025, where imagination, experimentation and cultural dialogue take center stage.

Within the dynamic tapestry of the Fuorisalone Milano 2025, Solferino 28 emerged once again as one of the most anticipated events: an immersive experience blending visionary architecture, design innovation and human-centered creativity. In its role as a premium partner of Solferino 28, Rivatelier proudly took part in the transformative installation Città Paradiso, crafting outdoor spaces that reimagined the relationship between design, nature and collective imagination.

Solferino 28 and the vision of “Città Paradiso”

Held within the historic courtyard of Corriere della Sera in Via Solferino, Solferino 28 once again brought to life one of the most inspiring settings of the Fuorisalone Milano 2025. The event was curated by Corriere della Sera, Living and Abitare and offered visitors a unique opportunity to explore cutting-edge ideas where design meets emotion, technology and imagination.

At the heart of this year’s experience was Città Paradiso, an immersive installation conceived by MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects: floating between dream and reality, Città Paradiso invited visitors on a surreal journey through imagined cities shaped by human desires, natural ecosystems and collective creativity. Deeply aligned with the broader themes explored at the furniture exhibition 2025, the installation also addressed one of today’s most vital questions: how will urban spaces evolve in an increasingly interconnected world? Within the exhibition, urban planning stopped being a static exercise to become a participatory experience, enriched by the contributions of visitors and enhanced by artificial intelligence. In addition, participants were invited to voice their dreams for an ideal city, which were then transformed into visual narratives through AI technology.

By blending interaction, storytelling and sensory immersion, Città Paradiso transformed the design experience into an emotional dialogue between the imagination and the built environment, perfectly capturing the spirit of a new era in design thinking.

Rivatelier’s lounge design: outdoor elegance and comfort

Rivatelier’s lounge design: outdoor elegance and comfort

As a premium partner of Solferino 28, Rivatelier was entrusted with designing the outdoor lounge spaces of Città Paradiso, including the foyer and the stage: all key points of welcome and interaction within the installation.

True to its philosophy, Rivatelier approached the project with a vision rooted in essential elegance, where every detail served a dual purpose: creating an atmosphere of effortless hospitality while remaining deeply connected to the urban and conceptual fabric of the installation. The spaces needed to provide comfort and a sense of belonging within the surreal narrative MCA – Mario Cucinella Architects envisioned.

For this prestigious outdoor setting, Rivatelier thus curated a selection of its signature pieces: the Nemo armchair, the Layer tables and the Pixel pouf.

Crafted from finger-jointed solid iroko wood, the Nemo armchair stands out for its refined silhouette, where structure and cushions form a continuous, flowing line. Its design, mimicking the elegant curves of a fish, adds a touch of lightness and sophisticated whimsy, perfectly complementing the organic atmosphere of Città Paradiso. The Layer tables, available in both square and cylindric versions, feature lightweight, spaced panels that let light and air pass through, creating a dynamic interplay of transparency and structure. Their open design enhanced the breezy, dreamlike quality of the lounges, reinforcing a seamless dialogue between built elements and the natural surroundings. Completing the composition, the Pixel pouf added an element of vibrant comfort: with its sinuous shape, soft padding and and removable fabric cover, it provided a flexible and inviting seating option, contributing to a relaxed, welcoming atmosphere.

More than a simple aesthetic intervention, Rivatelier’s lounges were crucial in shaping the visitor experience. They offered a human scale amid the visionary landscapes through gracious ecosystems where guests could pause, reflect and reconnect with their surroundings. By seamlessly integrating design, functionality and emotion, Rivatelier hence transformed transitional spaces into integral moments of the immersive journey, fully aligned with the spirit of the Fuorisalone 2025 and the evolving values of contemporary design culture.

Bridging indoors and outdoors: a signature Rivatelier approach

Bridging indoors and outdoors: a signature Rivatelier approach

Rivatelier’s participation in the Fuorisalone 2025 at Solferino 28 was a natural extension of the brand’s broader vision: creating seamless, fluid spaces that transcend the traditional boundaries between indoor and outdoor living. In today’s evolving lifestyle, where flexibility, well-being and connection to nature have become essential, Rivatelier’s design philosophy finds its fullest expression.

This holistic approach echoed Rivatelier’s presence during the Milano Design Week, from the dynamic outdoor lounges at Città Paradiso to the elegant, interconnected environments unveiled at the Salone del Mobile 2025. Despite differing settings, a unifying theme emerged: a celebration of environments where architecture and emotion converge and the transition between inside and outside becomes an enriching experience rather than a threshold.

In this evolving narrative, the contemporary home becomes a living, breathing organism, a canvas for experiences, connections and emotional resonance. In expansive gardens, intimate courtyards, or indoor sanctuaries, Rivatelier crafts spaces that invite interaction, foster serenity and adapt gracefully to the rhythms of everyday life, reaffirming its role as a pioneer of this new paradigm: where living spaces are not only inhabited, but felt, lived and imagined.

An immersive journey through design and technology

Ultimately, at the core of Città Paradiso lay an invitation to imagine a city shaped not by predefined plans but by dreams, emotions and collective aspirations. Through an interactive journey enhanced by artificial intelligence, visitors were encouraged to contribute their visions of an ideal city transformed into evocative digital landscapes. Floating translucent spheres, lush microcosms and visionary urban prototypes created a setting where reality blurred into imagination: a fitting metaphor for the evolving relationship between design, technology and human desire.

Within this context, Rivatelier’s lounge spaces became integral nodes of the immersive narrative, offering visitors a moment of grounding, a tactile and emotional counterpoint to the ethereal, shifting surroundings. By creating environments that were both aesthetically seamless and profoundly welcoming, Rivatelier amplified the sense of journey, making each pause a part of the story.

This notion of the "ideal place" - a space that adapts, embraces and inspires - resonates deeply with Rivatelier’s overall design philosophy. In a world increasingly defined by personalization and emotional well-being, the globally renowned Italian furniture brand crafts solutions that respond to functional needs and the deeper human longing for spaces that nurture creativity, intimacy and self-expression.

In aligning design with technology and aesthetics with emotion, Rivatelier’s presence at Fuorisalone 2025 eloquently captured the spirit of a new era where architecture is the backdrop to life just as much as an active, evolving part of the human experience.

What’s next? Rivatelier and the future of contemporary living

What’s next? Rivatelier and the future of contemporary living

As the energy of the Fuorisalone 2025 fades into memory and brands and designers gear up for the next edition, its impact on the future of design remains profound. Milan’s global stages have shown that contemporary living is no longer confined to aesthetic trends or functional solutions alone. Instead, they call for a new synthesis: one where function, emotion and sustainability coexist seamlessly to shape meaningful experiences.

At the heart of this transformation stands Rivatelier, a brand committed to breaking traditional boundaries and envisioning spaces that speak to the soul as much as to practical needs. By blurring the lines between indoor and outdoor living, and by creating environments that invite emotional connection and embracing technological innovation to enhance human well-being, Rivatelier’s mission remains clear: to design not just spaces but also ways of living and experiencing settings.

Looking ahead, Rivatelier will continue to craft sophisticated, immersive environments for a new generation of inhabitants: those who seek beauty and substance, intimacy and openness, innovation and authenticity. Through each project, the brand will further reaffirm its belief that true luxury lies not merely in what can be seen or touched but in what can be felt, lived and shared.

As the dialogue between design and life evolves, Rivatelier will remain at the forefront, shaping spaces where imagination finds its home and the future of living is genuinely experienced.
